Gahh! I wanted to post a picture.
Today we had our first meeting for the new H&M store. This week me and my compadres were transferred to the 5th Avenue store which is suprisingly serene due to being grossly overstaffed. The morning got off to a rough start when I left my MetroCard in my pants from the day before (I never do that). I figured this day would come so after frantically tearing apart my wallet and purse I sucked it up and bought a 2 buck Single Ride fare. I thought this simple mistake would cost me lunch but it ended up costing me alot more when my rice krispy at the grocery store next door cost me $3.25. I had to use my $20 dollar bill in the Subway machine which instead of spitting out 18 golden Sequoa dollars and a Single Ride spit out to my dismay a $20 MetroCard. The lady at the counter assured me she couldn't help me. Since I had already wasted so much money I decided to buy a cute dress and tights to go with my ridiculously expensive boots that I bought on Monday when I overslept, ran for the train, and got there just in the nick of time to be told that I wasn't supposed to come in until tomorrow.
There are some good things to report. I just found out that Liz and Sarah share the exact SAME birthday...which is on Sunday when I have to work virtually all day. Happy Birthday Only Friends!!!
It is also looking like I may be able to come home for Christmas afterall. Or if Mom and Dad are too into their idea of bringing Christmas to me to give up now-- I can have some days off. I put in my request for the 26th-30th off. To which Richard said, "That'll probably be fine..." Hooorah! This means I could fly home either late Christmas Eve or Christmas morning and be back in time to work New Years Eve. The Christmas fever has definitely hit here. There is a giant red and tinseled lighted bow outside our livingroom window. And all the snowflake lights are lit up on Broadway and Stienway before its even dark.... which is 4:30. Can't be economical... but it sure is festive. I also witnessed the topping of the tree made entirely of ties at The Brooks Brothers on Fifth Avenue. And all the iceskating rinks are OPEN.
Carlyn is planning to come up on Saturday for a one-day foray in the city. We're going to go see Cara's play "The Flood" that closes this weekend. She just emailed me a few hours ago so I'm super excited. Gotta clean up though. And replace the 3 out of 6 lightbulbs in the apartment that are out.
